Hey Brain,
It sure is proggy, and it does sound lame with the samples. But, I can hear all the potential there. It would make a killer prog-rock song if it was recorded with real instruments. Kind of a Dream Theater meets Yes vibe going on there. I hope you finish it off the way you want to, and if you need someone to record some guitar parts, let me know (though I can't promise to pull off that exact solo, I'd improvise one of my own).
Very nice composition. Please, please record it with real instruments and put it back up here. I'd love to hear it. Oh, and extend it to at least 15 minutes so it can truly achieve full prog-rock awesomeness.
Greg

wassup man
its been a while
i wish i knew what motivates me, i use it more to get motivated.
aight, lets see if i remember how to write a review.
the drum programming is pretty good although the mix down is messed up. the hats are way too loud, the crash and the snare need more amplitude.
i like the melodies a lot. the guitar solo is tiiight, i wish i could do summin like that. most of my solos sound pretty random at parts.
id really like to hear this with real instruments! itd be a killlllller.
i love the variations on the drums and the synth work.
overall: composition is great, as usual. you already know how you can improve this.

Hey man, Cheers for your reveiw...
Well this will be the third attempt to post a reveiw due to crashing. (I Love computers)
This will be a little shorter but will try to recap..
I thought this track was really well done right down to the mix and especailly the progression.....Hats off there....unfortunately i cant seem to get into it as much as i would like...the Genre just dosnt sit rigth with me...Although there is definetely a fun feel to it...Some great progression once again man. Dont ask me to count the time signatures pal, I wouldnt know where to start.......And what the hell happened at the end???? Although the piano is just amazing the question still begs to be asked! Where the hell did that come from??? lol...
Even though i couldnt get into it i can still appreaciate the time and effort gone into this,
Top stuff man...
9/10+

Yoggles,
Ahh rock the head smashers paradise, the head thrash to get it right out of ye. This to me never quite meets those demands and to be honest is a little wishy washy but then you did say not to pull u on the samples, but then isn't that most of the song? It sounds very mono and just needs some heavy mastering. I'm not too found of the synths they don't seem to hit, again though just a bit straight for heavy rock.

Mmmm - Prog Rock - I've been getting a bit proggy in my recent material too, so had to check this one out.
There's certainly flavours of the old skool prog going on here - but overall you've got this repetitive feeling that's more modern day electronica or dance music, and the exclusive use of keyboards serves to underline this.
For me it kinda runs out of steam with the keyboard solo around 3:23, but to focus on the good bits, the phat bass sound is driving and melds perfectly with the inside out and upside down drum track - self programmed?
Despite the "running out of steam" feel I get, there's an overall good dramatic shape, and when you drop it all away and pick it up it works - maybe it should get down to business a bit more quickly, though, as the phrase feels too repetitive to maintain my interest.
The production is good though, and overall, a good sounding piece that's a real attention grabber.

Not Prog Rock - but a game of two halves with a proggy twist...
