-What is your real name? How old are you and tell us a little about you-
My name is David C. Jacobson Jr.. I'm 18 years old, and I'm an upcoming sophmore music major at Mansfield University.
-Where did Brink-of-Time come from?
I got the idea while playing Chrono Trigger. I though that the End of Time was a cool thing, so I thought about the begining of time. I almost went with Start of Time, but sounded stupid. So I chose Brink-of-Time.
-What brought you to SectionZ?
When I got Fruityloops 3, I was going through the songs it came with, and came across Toby Emerson's "Falling". On the info page, it had a link to his page here on SectionZ. After a little looking around, I became a member.
-Why become a member?
The list can go on forever. SectionZ is loaded with tons of features, and even more if you become a Premium member. The community here is one of a kind. SectionZ is a great way to promote your music, get better, learn new things, and of course make some friends.
-What was it that got you into writing and producing music?
There are a few. The first is video games, and this can prolly go for alot of people here. I love video game music. The next, prolly just as big, was my friend Paul Ulrich. About 4 years ago, he showed me a song he wrote, and when I asked him how he did it, he showed me fruityloops. So I bought my own copy, and started to fool around. And look at me now. haha
-Do you have any influences?
Of course. Yasunori Mitsuda is probably the biggest influence. The Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross soundtracks were very well done. Toby Emerson is the biggest influence in terms of trance for me. Others include, Yoko Kanno, John Williams, Nobou Uematsu, kLuTz, Coldplay, virt, Stemage, Green Day, Blink 182, Jeremy Soule, and whoever wrote the Super Metroid music. lol
-What kind of music do you like writing?
I'm not very good at telling one genre from another, but trance, dance, soft rock, orchestra, and solo instrumental stuff is what I write mainly. I'm really good at happy, sad, emotional songs, but I tend to have some trouble with evil and dark stuff. haha
-Are there any genres of music you like listening to more then others?
Yes and no. I just listen to music that sounds cool to me. I can tell you what I dont listen to though: -Rap, country, and reggea.
-What are you listening to right now?
virt-"Crystal Flash". It's the most badass hard rock arrangement of every song from Super Metroid. I'm also listening to some Abyss, and some songs from the album "Sailing to the World".
-What is this Chrimson Tears project you're involved in?
It's a vintage style RPG for the PC. I'm the music composer for it. It's alot of work, mainly because I have around a total of 40 songs to write. Add that on top of my college work..... It's loads of fun though. :)
-Where do you see yourself and your music in 10 years?
Japan. I hope to write music for games. Movies and shows wouldn't be bad either. I do plan to still write independant songs every once in a while.

-What part of your music do you work on the most?
I tend to work on my melodies more then anything. Afterall, that's what we hum when we like a song right? Maybe I'm wrong.... oh well. haha
-Time to plug a song in.
I really don't have a favorite from my music. My Chrimson Tears stuff is great. Pretty much any of my newer songs are good.
-What is your favorite song of all time?
That's a hard one, but I have to say "To Far Away Times" from the Chrono Trigger OST. It's a simple song, but the melodies are wonderful.
-Recommend 3 albums that you think someone would enjoy.
Only 3? well alright....
-Chrono Trigger OST- The songs are awesome, this is a very well done album.
